National Championships

We had 4 Club Members playing in the recent Masters National Squash Championships in Manchester - Tony Clifford, Andrew Eilfield, Eamonn Price and Marvin Rust. Congratulations to Eamonn who was successful in winning his first National Title when he beat Jon Foster (Hampshire) by 3 games to 1 in the 65 minute Over 45 Final. Following their performances in Masters Events this season, Eamonn (Over 45) and Tony Clifford (Over 65) have been selected to represent England in the forthcoming Home Internationals.

Two of our members, Alex Walker and Liam Kirkwood are hoping to do a 1000 mile walk in the summer to raise money for the Chernobyl Children’s Project. They have a web site, www.walk1000.co.uk, that gives more details including sections on events they are planning to raise funds before they set off and how you can become involved/make donations. It is a worthy cause and members are invited to support them

Club nights take place on the first Sunday of each month - starting at 6pm and finishing around 9pm.
It's a great opportunity to socialize, and play familiar opponents, or perhaps someone from a different division.
